Covid-19 Additional updates and policies

While our regular studio hygiene practices are designed to prevent the spead of viruses such as Covid-19 and we have previously implemented additional precautions, given the escalating situation we wanted to share with everyone both some updated policies and requests to help keep everyone in the Avea Community safe and healthy.

The health of our community and our teachers is our #1 priority.  As studio owners we take this responsibility very seriously and are present in both studios daily to ensure our precautions are being followed, restock supplies as needed and personally clean critical surfaces.  We hope you will bear with us if there are minor disruptions to the teachers, classes and schedule as the situation progresses and resolves itself.

What we are doing

Both studios receive 2-3 hours cleaning nightly and we are completing additional cleaning for critical surfaces and monitoring the cleanliness of the studios during the course of the day.

We will be replacing cleaning cloths after every class.

We have asked all teachers to avoid physical contact when offering corrections.  They will do their best to demonstrate the correction and offer advice, but will not be touching clients.

If contact does occur, we have asked them to either use hand sanitizer or wash their hands prior to touching another client.

If any teacher reports cold or flu like symptoms, they will stay home and we will substitute their classes or cancel them if a substitute is not available.

We have secured supplies of disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer that will be installed for your use in both studios as soon as they arrive.

We have asked teachers that if a client appears to exhibit flu or cold symptoms during a class, they ask the client to leave the studio.

We will review our schedule hourly and will consolidate and substitute classes depending on overall demand to ensure the studios can remain financially strong through this disruptive period.

We will post new updates as needed to this page.

What we are asking you to do

We will get through this as a community.  For the health of your fellow clients and teachers, we are asking for your help with the following areas:

DO NOT come to class if you don’t feel well. The teacher may ask you to kindly leave class if you exhibit symptoms.  Also, consider whether you have recent international travel that might impact our community

Wash your hands when you arrive and before you leave.

Once you have wiped down your reformer, please place your towel in the laundry basket, which will be easily visible.

Please avoid physical contact with teachers and fellow clients.

Please use hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes sparingly.  Once supplies are exhausted, we do not know when we will be able to secure additional supplies.

We are immediately requesting the use of Pilates or grip socks for all clients.  We also have disposable gloves in both studios that you can use if you wish.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us on 646 766 0143.

Please stay safe and healthy!
