The safety of our staff and clients is always our top priority. As you have probably heard, there have been two important Covid announcements by New York City this week. We are working hard to implement these guidelines. Please note the following:
New York City now strongly recommends all individuals wear masks in indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status. We strongly encourage and request all individuals to wear masks at all times in our studios. We have spare disposable masks available in each studio if needed.
As of August 16th, under the Key to NYC Pass program, all employees and customers participating in indoor dining, gyms, entertainment, and performances will be required to show proof of vaccination, with at least 1 dose of a vaccine required. We have received guidance that to show proof of vaccination, you can show your paper vaccination card, the Excelsior pass, or the NYC COVID Safe app. There is no option to show a negative Covid test for participation.
We will be implementing this screening to be compliant by August 16th. Please do not make a reservation beyond August 16th if you will be unwilling to comply with this program. As soon as we have further details and a more detailed understanding of the requirements we will post it prominently in our studios, include it on reservation emails and send out a further client email.
Please also note that socks continue to be required for participation in class. This has been our policy since September 2020. Grip or regular socks are fine, and we have grip socks available for purchase in all studios for $12, with Venmo and PayPal accepted. Please ask your teacher for a pair if you need them.
Thank you for your cooperation and support as we all get through this together. We do request that you respond with kindness to the teachers as they implement these guidelines. We are all in a challenging position. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at 646-766-0143 or info@aveapilatescom.
With love and gratitude always,
Carrie and the Avea Pilates team
