Covid-19 is a global humanitarian crisis that impacts us all.  As we have prepared to reopen our studios in compliance with state, local and enhanced safety guidelines, the safety of our employees and clients remains our top priority. Below you will find much more information about our Covid policies, the precautions we are taking, the sanitizing products we are using to keep you safe and more. If your question is not answered, please contact us.

What are your Covid-19 additional safety policies?

To maintain the safety of our clients and employees, the following temporary safety policies are in place.  Your entrance to our studios indicates your compliance with these policies. Please note that these are subject to review and modification at any time at our discretion, and the most up to date policies are prominently posted in each studio.

  • Temperature checks are required.
  • All clients and employees must wear a mask at all times in the studio. Bandanas, buffs and gaiters are not acceptable face coverings.
  • All clients must wear socks. Grip socks are preferred.
  • Employees and clients must maintain 6ft social distancing from all other clients and employees at all times.
  • Clients must arrive no earlier that 5-10 minutes prior to the session and no later than the scheduled start of the session.
  • Clients must depart promptly following the completion of the session.
  • Clients and employees must use care to avoid contamination of any common surfaces including wiping down any surfaces and wearing PPE where practically possible.
  • Each time you attend a session, you will be required to sign a contact tracing form including waiver of liability and acceptance of our policies.

Please note that while Avea Pilates is taking precautions to minimize the risk to our employees and clients including additional cleaning and sanitizing procedures, employee precautions, limiting sessions etc., it is not possible to provide complete protection against Covid-19 in a group setting.  If you are symptomatic or may have been exposed, please stay home.

What is your arrival policy?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your session (5 minutes is ideal).  Particularly during Covid-19 restrictions, late arrivals are dangerous and disruptive.  Prior to entry into your session, you will need to sign a waiver and have your temperature. The teacher is unable to complete this if you arrive late.

If you are late – even 1 minute – for your session, you will not be admitted.

Late arrivals will be marked as a no-show and are subject to no-show policies as outlined. Thank you for your understanding.  If you arrive on time but after the teacher has taken attendance, please wait after the session and ensure the teacher marks you present.

What additional Covid safety precautions are you taking?

We are proud to belong to the New York Fitness Coalition. We joined the NYFC in an effort to obtain expert guidance as we planned to reopen our facility. Through the guidance of Industry experts and an Occupational Health and Safety expert we have been instructed on not only how to open in line with State guidance, but how to exceed that guidance and provide you with an safe studio environment. Our cleaning products are on the Department of Environmental
Conservation (DEC) list of products registered in New York State and identified by the EPA as effective against COVID-19 and organic. This not only assures your safety where COVID is concerned but also secures your long term health and wellness free from pesticides and harmful chemicals. Please watch the video below, made for our facility, and we hope to see you soon.

How are you implementing NYS / NYC and NYFC safety protocols?

The safety of our employees and clients is our #1 priority. We are and intend to remain compliant with directives and regulations issues by New York State and local authorities. While these may change frequently, the following precautions are in effect.

  • Capacity is limited to less than 33% of the maximum allowed occupancy for each studio
  • No group classes are being offered at this time
  • Additional sanitizing of touched surfaces between each class
  • Vinyl straps are used which can be effectively disinfected between use
  • Cleaning towels are used once and then washed
  • Sanitizer stations available through the studio
  • Deep cleaning of the studio each night
  • Merv 13 air filters in the air conditioning units
  • Monthly voluntary testing for according to a 50 page NYFC sanitizing protocol
  • All cleaning products are compliant with CDC guidelines for disinfectants
  • Employee, client and visitor contact tracing and logs are maintained
  • Detailed sanitizing logs for teachers and cleaning staff are maintained and reviewed by management
  • Employees self-certify every day and stay home if they are sick
  • PPE is available to our employees and emergency supplies of PPE available to clients (e.g. if your mask breaks during class)
  • Extensive signage throughout the studios with specific safety protocols
  • Full details of our precautions and protocols available for client review
